Bourse Jackie English-Language Scholarship Program Expands

We have just chosen our 2nd cohort of English-Language Scholarship Recipients, under our 2nd Bourse Jackie program we started late last year, 2023. Young women from all of French-speaking West Africa apply and compete for the scholarship which provides six months of intensive English study at the BT Institute in Accra, Ghana, room & board and transportation to and from the home country. 

For this second cohort we had a total of 312 applicants from 11 different West Africa countries.

We short-listed the best fifteen applications for interviews and from that gave seven scholarships. The remaining final applicants who did not earn the scholarship will receive free online English at the BT Institute. The seven winners came from seven different West African countries, Mali, Ivory Coast, Togo, Niger, Burkina Faso, Benin and Gabon. We wish them the best of luck in the English studies, a life-changing skill for a young women from West Africa.
